Kirk, Covenenant and Christ Kids

Kirk, Covenant, and Christ Kids offers a fun-filled program which follows a VacationBibleSchool format.  The program is designed for children in Pre-K through 5th grade.  We meet the 2nd Wednesday of every month from 6:00 to 7:45p.m.  The children will have dinner and fellowship together, and then break into groups and rotate through story time/Bible lesson, crafts, and games.  The groups are divided into the following age levels:

Kirk Kids:  3 (potty-trained, please) through 5 year olds
Covenant Kids:  6 to 8 year olds
Christ Kids:  9 to 11 year olds

This year we are combining the SonRock Kids Camp! theme with various holiday themes, which leaves us with a full school year of fun and adventure!  Come join the fun!

Senior and Junior High Youth Group

The Youth Group is for Jr High and Sr High Youth in grades 6-12. We meet on Sundays at 5:30 PM in Heritage Hall. We have an hour program followed by a snack supper from 6:30-7:30 at the home of a church member. Transportation is provided from the church to the dinner, and back to the church again.

Leaders:  Cheryl Allison, Mary Clayton

Presbyterian Women

Presbyterian Women’s organizations are made up of small groups.  The idea is to have few enough in each group that members can sit in a circle and discuss whatever the study is at that time, pray together and work together for the good of others, with each having an opportunity to contribute freely on a comfortable level. For this reason, these small groups are called circles with the ideal number in one considered to be 6 to 12.

Our local church has four circles, three of which study the lessons published by Horizons, the official magazine of the organization. One Circle meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 9:30 a.m., another at 1:00 p.m., and the third at 7:00 p.m. on the same day, giving an opportunity for each person to choose a convenient time.  There are no special criteria for belonging, other than the desire to meet with friends and study Bible passages and their application to our daily lives.  The day circles meet in homes, ordinarily, and the night circle meets at the church.  An organizational meeting is held the second Tuesday of September.  At this time those who want to be in Circles choose the time they prefer and indicate whether they want to be hostess or Bible study leader at some point.  However, no one is required to accept either responsibility, and anyone who desires to come to any of the circles may do so at any time.

A fourth circle meets at the church on the second Monday at 7:00 p.m.  This group is made up of women who are still working at outside jobs, or for some reason find that time more convenient.  Participants choose their own study material which may or may not coincide with that used by the other circles.  This group is also open to anyone who wishes to attend.

Membership in Presbyterian Women is not limited to those who attend Circles.  Every woman in FPC is considered to be a member, whether she attends Circle meetings or not.  Of course, it would be ideal if each of us could be a part of an organized study of the Bible and/or other spiritual writings, but we know that’s impossible.  For that reason a general meeting is held on the third Tuesday of the months of November, February, and May with a luncheon at the church and an informative program.  All women are welcome to attend and participate when ever they can.

Our purpose:  Forgiven and freed by God in Jesus Christ and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves: to nurture our faith through prayer and Bible study; to support the mission of the church worldwide; to work for justice and peace; and to build an inclusive caring community of women that strengthens the Presbyterian Church (USA) and witnesses to the promise of God’s Kingdom.

Please check our calendar of events for circle meeting dates, times, and locations.
